Fruits, vegetables and salads can be turned into delicious smoothies in seconds. There are no limits to tastes and fantasies. Smoothies and juices are a healthier alternative to soft drinks and the like. It has been proven that you live a healthier life if you eat raw or fresh vegetables every day. But now the question arises, which is healthier: a freshly squeezed juice or a smoothie? You will find some very useful tips in this article. We also offer you popular smoothie makers. How to turn your kitchen into a juice bar.
Smoothie or juice: which drink is healthier?
Freshly squeezed juices contain many vitamins and minerals, but they are also highly concentrated. This means that juices are high in calories and sugar. A juicer that separates the pulp from the juice could be helpful here. However, this means that some valuable nutrients are lost. Juice is never a substitute for a full meal.
In this case, smoothies work better than juices. Every smoothie recipe is high in fiber. Smoothies are full of fruits, vegetables and protein and get very close to the meal. In a direct comparison, smoothies therefore perform better.
Also Fiber plays a role in the difference between a smoothie and a juice. A distinction must be made between soluble and insoluble fibre. Soluble fiber is also found in the juice, even if the pulp has been removed. They have a positive effect on the digestive process and a probiotic effect, supporting healthy bacteria in the gut. Insoluble fibers also remain in the smoothie because the pulp is mixed. They eventually give you a feeling of satiety.
Smoothie maker: you should pay attention to this when buying
- Performance: A few berries or a banana will not take the smoothie maker beyond the limit. But if the fruit is frozen and nuts are to be added, the blender just needs to be strong enough. This is the only way to make a creamy smoothie without lumps. Therefore, smoothie makers should have at least 300 watts. In general, the more watts, the better.
- Rotation speed: The rotations of the blades are also important. The faster they rotate, the better the vegetables, fruits and salad are chopped. It should be around 25,000 rpm.
- Material: Smoothie makers are mostly made of stainless steel or glass. However, many manufacturers use plastic for the container. Make sure the container is BPA-free.
